Dear Friends,

In remembrance ~ Adam Cole |
As the 2024–25 school year comes to a close, it’s a time to pause and reflect. This year brought joy, challenges, and real sadness, including losing a valued colleague, Adam Cole, who meant so much to our school community. Through it all, we leaned on one another, showed kindness, and offered grace when needed. It wasn’t always easy, but we moved forward together.
In the coming school year, our new administrative team, Ms. Tammy Reidell, our interim PreK-12 Principal, and Ms. Jamie Dickinson, our PreK-12 Assistant Principal, will guide us on the next leg of our journey.
We wish Mr. Ratti all the best in his new role as Middle and High School Principal at the Galway Central School District. Best wishes also to Mr. Thomarie, who will be joining Wells as a librarian and technology support staff member. Congratulations to Ms. Field on earning her teaching degree. She will begin her career as an elementary teacher in the Greater Johnstown School District.
We wish Ms. Harris, Ms. Hock, Mr. Hoffman, Mr. Rockwell, and Ms. K. Flickinger joy and retirement adventures. We welcome David Pede, who will teach science and two algebra classes.
Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, I’ll return to a monthly newsletter format. I’m looking forward to spending more time walking the building, stopping into classrooms, snapping photos of bulletin boards, and inviting students to chat and share their work.

Wearing Mom's Wedding Gown |
As we head into the summer months, I hope you find time to do the things that bring you joy and nourish your spirit, whatever that may look like for you. This summer is significant for me, as my daughter Juliana is getting married.
I’ll be away from Wednesday, August 21st, through Sunday, August 24th, for the celebration. I recently unpacked my wedding dress—48 years old—and Juliana tried it on. It fit her perfectly. She’s having it shortened to wear for the rehearsal dinner. In the photo, she’s looking through our small wedding album with my husband, Steve.
Girl Scouts
With Ms. Thomarie's help, the Girl Scouts created a beautiful tribute to Mr. Cole in our Outdoor Learning Center.

Animal Stories ~ Ms. Nordyke
Fire Tower Stories
Students in grades 3-5 were able to learn about the history and importance of the fire towers in New York State. They wrote very "long" fire tower stories. Open the book here LINK. Use the + sign and your mouse to scroll so that you can read it! You can visit a website about Fire Towers of the Adirondacks here. "There are 25 fire towers that rise from summits across the Adirondacks. Interested in climbing all of them? Take the Fire Tower Challenge, and see how many you can check off your list!"

World War II Presentation - Dane Roberts
Dane, thank you for sharing your passion with us. Your talk was both informative and inspiring. Northville CSD is proud to support you as you work toward your goal of enrolling at West Point after graduation!
Hyde Collection in Glens Falls ~ Ms. Thomarie
Third and fourth period Spanish classes visited the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, which was built to emulate the Isabella Gardner Museum in Boston. Both museums house collections were displayed in homes that people lived in. We saw pieces by Picasso, El Greco, Rembrandt, Seurat, Rodin, Ingres, Degas, Botticelli, Tintoretto, Raphael, Winslow Homer, Whistler - it is truly a world-class museum on our doorstep. We topped our visit off with lunch at La Cosina Mexicana. Authentic Mexican food run by a mother-daughter team.
Nordic Skii
Ms. Thomarie shared, "This was the very first year of a merged Mayfield-Northville nordic ski team. The modified, JV, and Varsity kids all ski and practice together, @ we had 5 athletes on our Northville roster and 30 combined with Mayfield. We had 2 Northville @ HS athletes: Reese Matarazzo and Lyra Thomarie. The merged team is the culmination of a long process that began back in the winter of 2016-2017 when through Outing Club @ Adeline Crosby, Morgan Fordyce, Emma Peck, and Jasmine Vrooman participated in weekly lessons up at Lapland. Seeing us up there regularly, Ryan Bornt the Mayfield coach asked if we might want to join his team.@ NINE winters later, thanks to the support of Mr.Karbowski, Mr. Ratti, and the Northville Board of Ed, the Mayfield-Northville nordic team is a reality!"
Gecko Drawing
This art lesson with our young artists was not only fun but also truly inspiring. Their attention to detail and perseverance really stood out, and the finished products. I think you’ll be just as impressed as I was by their work.

Class of 2025 Graduates
One of my favorite bulletin boards each year honors our seniors. I put it up in early May, once all of the senior pictures are in. Many of these students have been with us since Kindergarten. I’ve only known them for three years, but I know I’ll miss seeing them in these halls. Soon they will join our graduates' picture gallery. Please join us on June 27th at 6 pm to celebrate the Class of 2025 and see them off.
Graduation pics will be published in my July Newsletter!
