As the year draws to a close, I want you to know how thankful I am for our families, community, and staff, and the important work we do together. Helping our students thrive, whether in PreK or in the final months leading up to graduation, is one of the most important jobs we have. It definitely takes the Village of Northville! I tidied my office, submitted our final report for the Healthy Meals Grant, made a few updates to State reports, and updated my January 2026 task list. These small acts of wrapping up feel like a quiet honoring of everything we've accomplished this year.
My 2025 thankful notes. I am grateful for the many wonderful events that brought the spirit of Northville to our school and community this year, our concerts, art exhibits, sporting events, special programs, and so many more. I am grateful for the people who make our school such a special place: our student volunteers who beautify our school and community, our club supervisors, and our teachers who engage students in hands-on, collaborative learning and who ensure our children feel supported during challenging times. Our support staff, secretaries, district clerk, and others are the welcoming faces and thoughtful hands that keep our days running smoothly. Our community members, families, and supportive businesses and organizations. Our cafeteria staff prepared fantastic Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts, our bus drivers get us to school safely, our grounds staff arrive early to clear snow and salt the walkways, and our building is in tip-top shape thanks to everyone's care. Behind the scenes, our business department keeps everything running smoothly, our technology department keeps us connected and equipped, and our public relations team shares our story with the wider community. I am grateful for our innovative administrators, who are attentive to every detail and continually move our school forward. And I am thankful for our Board of Education, whose leadership and dedication guide us all.
Please find time for the quiet moments that restore us: a good book, a board game with children, that perfect cup of tea or morning coffee, a walk, a ski, or a snowshoe in the woods. Whatever brings you peace, I hope you find it.

PODCAST WITH MR. HAMMONS ~ TROUT IN THE CLASSROOM
"Trout in the Classroom" is a hands-on environmental education program where students raise trout from eggs in a classroom aquarium and then release them into a local, approved stream in the spring. Throughout the year, students learn how to care for living creatures, monitor water quality, and observe the trout life cycle up close, which helps them understand topics such as ecosystems, clean water, and conservation in a concrete and meaningful way. The program is designed to connect kids with their local watershed and to build a sense of responsibility and stewardship for the environment, so when they finally release “their” trout, they also feel more connected to the streams, rivers, and natural resources their community depends on. Mr. Hammons has been supporting this program for 6 years, starting in 2019, and is with us today to share his experiences.

ADIRONDACK PARADOX ~ JAN. 17th, 9 am, 12 pm, or 5 pm ~ CHOOSE ONE!
Families, community members, and colleagues, this presentation will examine the Adirondacks and Upstate NY as a whole, working our way down to illustrate how the Adirondack Paradox and the New York State Aid Formula specifically impact our school district, as well as other districts experiencing similar issues. We will share our advocacy efforts to date and outline our next steps. We appreciate your participation and feedback. Refreshments will be served. Feel free to bring your friends and relatives.

TELHEALTH SERVICES ~ MS. RENNER
NCS will offer telehealth services to students and staff through Albany Medical Center for the 2025-26 school year. We are excited and hopeful that this partnership will help alleviate some of the stress that often arises when a child needs medical care. Not only will our students have this service available during the school day, but it can also be utilized at home by anyone, adults included!
Please see the informational flyer and pre-registration form. A QR code is also included on the flyer and below if you wish to complete online registration. We strongly urge pre-registration so that care can be expedited, but please be assured that your child will never be seen by a telehealth provider without obtaining your consent first (every time). The Albany Med team will be at Open House on 09/16 at 6:30pm to offer insight and assist with registration. We hope many of our students take advantage of this excellent service!
Ms. Fitzgerald posts to Northville CSD Parent Square daily to inform us about the numerous events that make our school and extended community such vibrant, welcoming spaces. Her efforts are essential to maintaining our strong sense of community. Also, be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages.
